Welcome!

Hello and welcome to my blog! My name is Lachae.

     I probably should have made this my very first post on my blog (instead of the Nordstrom and H&M posts) but nevertheless, better late than never! I am currently an educator living in (sometimes) sunny South Florida. I was born in Belize, lived in Chicago for 12 years, and have now lived in South Florida for 13 years. I graduated from the University of Miami with a degree in Biology and minors in Psychology and Creative Writing. I have always wanted to start a blog (from since I was in high school) but never actually got around to doing so until now. Being a quiet and reserved person, I’m not verbally expressive with my thoughts, so writing is much more my strong suit. Over the years since I’ve graduated, I’ve developed a stronger understanding of myself and the person I want to be and I’ve realized that I love expressing that through fashion, home décor, and cooking which will the main focus of this blog! 

     Since I don’t have a disposable income (teacher salary), I purchase nearly everything I own on a discount. Presently, my style is more geared towards feminine, preppy, and classic pieces. I’ll be honest and say that the Midwesterner in me still hasn’t left – expect to see lots of cardigans and sweaters with dresses or skirts – but the South Florida girl in me has come to terms with the ever present heat and humidity so the day dress has become a wardrobe staple. I also believe that you can budget in designer pieces into your wardrobe and not break the bank. I hope you’ll find some inspiration on my blog as I share and express my thoughts, love of fashion, and food adventures along the way!
